You won’t want to miss this year’s Block Party on South Marshall Street!! This year, Immanuel is providing the bouncy house – a huge hit with the children. Last year, over 30 people from Immanuel volunteered and mingled with over 500 residents of South Marshall Street at their annual Block Party. We gave away almost 80 bikes and 2,000 children’s books! This year, residents will once again enjoy the bouncy house, great hot dogs and hamburgers, games for the children, and a variety of fun entertainment. Over 25 non-profits from our neighborhood will be providing activities for children and information to their parents.
We hope you will sign up on the insert in this Sunday's Order of Service or on the sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall to help make this event successful. Choose what might be most fun:
- Grill hot dogs and hamburgers
- Serve the food
- Supervise the bouncy house
- Give away books
- Help paint faces on the children
- Staff the Immanuel table
We are also seeking new or gently used children’s books. Please bring them to Immanuel.
The Block Party, just 3 blocks from Immanuel, begins at Marshall House homeless shelter and stretches past the 16 Habitat houses, to the end of the block where the Karen and Nepali refugees live. This event is a wonderful opportunity for the residents to get to know each other, and, it is a terrific opportunity for us, as volunteers, to get to meet some of our neighbors!
