Criminal Justice Reform Task Force Meeting: Wednesday, October 24th, 7pm, in the Chapel

Our criminal justice system needs significant reform regarding mass incarceration issues that disproportionately have a negative impact on racial minorities. Immanuel’s Criminal Justice Reform Task Force spent 2018 educating ourselves about many of those issues, from reentry services to voting rights, through conversations with advocates, government leaders and individuals who were previously incarcerated. Those conversations led us to hold a public forum in June; to host a dinner in August organized by Leadership Greater Hartford for people returning to the community from prison; and with our sister churches, to collect personal items to give to women returning to the community. All are welcome to attend these meetings at any time.
