Lenten Opportunities for Spiritual Nurture

Lent begins next week! We are excited and grateful for the programming we are able to offer. All are encouraged to participate in ways that speak to you. It would be most helpful if you could let us know you’ll be participating--either by signing up in Fellowship Hall, or by using the contact information where provided below.

  • Taizé/Imposition of Ashes Worship: Ash Wednesday, February 14th, 6:30pm, in the Chapel—We hope many will make time and space for communion with God in silence and song. Thank you, Herb Menzel, for providing these Taize opportunities!
  • Taizé Worship: Tuesdays throughout Lent, six services, beginning February 20th and ending on March 27th, 6:30pm, in the Chapel—Services in silence and song continue.
  • Accessing Contemplative and Compassionate Prayer: Wednesdays throughout Lent, six sessions, 7-8:30pm, beginning February 21st and ending on March 28th—Join us to practice Christian contemplative prayer together. Utilizing elements of Christian meditation through Centering Prayer and simple bodymind awareness exercises, we will come together in a mixture of gentle movement, seated meditation and sharing to deepen our relationships with God and with each other. Please contact (and thank!) Chris Salvio, chrissalviolmft@yahoo.com860-656-0952, to sign up or with questions, or sign up on the sheet posted in Fellowship Hall.
  •  Multi-Church Jesus and Justice Lenten Bible Study: Thursdays throughout Lent, six sessions, 6-7:30pm, beginning February 22nd and ending on March 22nd—Always a most popular annual event! See the insert in this Order of Service for additional information. Sign up on the sheet posted in Fellowship Hall, or by contacting the Church Office, admin@iccucc.org860-527-8121.
