Almost 50 years ago, members of Immanuel Congregational Church traveled to the Mandan Indian Reservation, to build relationships and repair homes with the Mandan people. While they were there, a group of Mandan women gifted Immanuel with a beautiful quilt, which they had made by hand. On this World Communion Sunday, we will celebrate indigenous people around the world, as we offer this quilt back to the Mandan community, to be displayed in a museum on reservation lands in North Dakota. Please join us for this moving worship service, where we take communion together, enjoy powerful music and stories, and honor the spirit that unites us all, as we celebrate all we have learned, and are continuing to learn, from indigenous communities. Scripture references for this Sunday are II Timothy 1: 1-7 and Luke 22: 14-19.
