Rainbow Blankets for Church World Service

Did you know that CWS runs programs for LGBTQ refugees in Kenya and South Africa? The CWS Safe Space program assists leaders in Kenya and South Africa to extend welcome to people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. That means LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers gain assistance, as they flee terrible persecution in some African nations. Community outreach to LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers in Nairobi and Johannesburg has identified new strategies to ensure personal safety and access to essential services. CWS Safe Space also runs peer support activities for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ youth, and a partnership to expand HIV prevention and treatment services to LGBTQ refugees.

So....on Pride Sunday, June 30th, you are invited to support LGBTQ refugees in Africa, by making a donation to the Rainbow Blankets for Church World Service. The money goes directly to programs supporting LGBTQ refugees in Africa, ensuring their safety and care! Please indicate “Blankets” in the memo line on your check, and give generously to Church World Service, to support this important work!
