Immanuel Participates in the World Wide Climate Strike: Friday, Sept. 20th, 11am, Church Front Steps

Join us! On Friday, September 20th, millions of students and workers will walk out of their schools and workplaces, in 117 countries around the world, to join young climate strikers on the streets and demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. As Swedish teenager, Greta Thunberg, who will be at the UN in New York City demonstrating, who started the Climate Walk Out Strikes in Stockholm, has said, “Our house is on fire – let’s act like it. We demand climate justice for everyone.” Immanuel members and friends are invited to join the Climate Strike by standing on Immanuel’s front steps facing Farmington Ave. at 11am, in solidarity with millions around the world. We will hold a banner that says, “Immanuel: We Love God’s Creation.” At 11:30am, persons who want to continue the demonstration will walk, bike or carpool over to join the Protest at the State Capital. This event has been organized by Immanuel’s Environmental Action Committee.
