Youth Group

The Immanuel Church Youth Group welcomes all youth in grades 6-12. Our mission is to bring our youth together, to provide a loving, encouraging environment where youth are affirmed, and to support them as they grow in their faith. We do this through regular meetings, retreats and team building activities, educational opportunities, local/global community service and partnering with our neighboring Hartford UCC teen ministries. Please refer to our calendar of events and join us!

This is a mandatory team building weekend for those youth wishing to participate in either mission trip in 2018.

Additional Special Teambuilding Sessions:
January 21st, March 11th, and April 22nd, 5:30 to 7:30pm

These sessions are intentionally designed to promote and develop unity, cooperation, and teamwork for the group, requiring problem solving, communication, cooperation, trust and teamwork for their completion. We will explore the importance of trust and communication all while having a great time! Through large and small group games, cooperative activities, problem-solving challenges and trust building activities, our group will have the opportunity to come to know themselves and their peers in a new way to ready themselves for local and global mission work.

Faces of Homelessness Speaker’s Bureau, Sunday, December 10 at 5:30pm
This education program works to promote advocacy, understanding, and service in the area of homelessness. The speakers in the bureau are people that have or are experiencing homelessness and they will share their experiences and ideas that are essential in the fight to combats these injustices.

Local Community Service
We will team with our community partners in Hartford to organize and participate in service to our local community programs such as Church by the Pond and projects at Immanuel.

Global Mission Work
Out of town mission trips provide a time of transformative experiences in the faith development of people of all ages. Mission work takes you out of your comfort zone and allows time for reflection, introspection and seeing the world through the eyes of Christ. This year, we will offer a weekend trip to a city in the northeast for our middle school youth and an international opportunity for our high school youth and chaperones to Purley, England on July 21st-29th. Stay tuned for more information!
