Partnership

Partnership is an institution in which Immanuel Congregational Church has long had a part, growing out of an interest in reconciling opposite sides after WWII . Churches in Purley in England, Dessau in Germany, Speyer in Germany, Ostrava in the Czech Republic, and Belfast in Northern Ireland have met together every three years to study a variety of topics, renew old friendships and make new ones, and just learn about each other’s cultures by living and playing together. Conference themes have included God’s Creation — Our Vision and Living Faith — Growing Community, exploring diverse faith communities and their work and institutions in the broader society.

In between the conferences, the churches have kept in touch with annual shared prayers, services, and visits. Individuals make strong and lasting friendships that continue between and beyond the conference gatherings with calls, cards, and visits.

Partnership 2016

In Summer 2016, the International Partnership Conference was held in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Sixteen Immanuelites attended this 10-day conference of worship, travel and discussion with our Partnership churches.
